You can be as active as you choose, and with over a thousand alarms a year, there are many opportunities to answer the call. In addition to drills, there are many other opportunites to learn skills, ranging from Emergency Medicine to specialized rope rescue to helicopter operations. | |
Becoming a Volunteer Firefighter is not for everyone. Honesty, a healthy sense of adventure, the ability to work as part of a team, the desire to push yourself to learn new skills and rise to meet physical challenges are all important aspects. But the comraderie and the chance to make a difference to your friend, neighbor, or a complete stranger in a time of need - these are the rewards of volunteering.
