New in 2025, this is a special dance for parents and kids between the ages of 3 and 13. VIPs and Mini Me's (ages 3-6) will have their own hour at the beginning of the event, then ages 7-13 can enjoy time with their VIPs for the last 2 hours. With a DJ, crafts, refreshments, and the small gym transformed into a special theme, this event is a fun time for kids and parents. Add ons to your ticket include facepainting, photographs, and more.
Always a popular event, the Egg Dive is held in the Aquatic Center and is usually on a Saturday. Activities include swimming, collecting eggs, and a chance to meet/take your photo with the Aqua Bunny! This all ages event tends to fill up fast so pre-registration is recommended. This Artisan Market happens each year in April and showcases mostly local artists with their amazing handmade art and crafts. Both the large and small gyms are filled with treasures ranging from paintings to stickers, 3D printed art, glass and woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry, and more.

The Coast Hills Classic is a premier cycling event that showcases Newport’s stunning coastal landscapes while supporting a great cause. Proceeds benefit the Youth Scholarship Fund, ensuring that all kids, regardless of financial barriers, have access to sports, recreation, and outdoor activities. Youth and Adult categories. This event usually occurs on the Friday before the 4th of July. Join Newport Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and various community partners including Oregon State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff, Thompson's Sanitary Service, First Student, and more.

Join local astrophotographer and host of the weekly "SkyWatch" segment on KYAQ, Jeremy Likness, for a unique experience exploring the night skies over Newport. He'll have a variety of equipment and will be joined by retired astronomer Sifan Kahle with her expertise and telescope. We will project images onto a screen so everyone can see at once. This free event will be held at Frank Wade Park on the ballfield. Please keep an eye on our Star Party Facebook event as this event is weather dependent and we will update there.
Monmouth Taiko will be playing at the Newport Performing Art Center parking lot for our first concert in the park of the season. This ancient Japanese drumming is a sight and sound to behold. This is a free event.
If you’ve ever wanted to go to a floating pumpkin patch, now’s your chance! This family friendly event in the Aquatic Center is usually on a Saturday and in addition to the floating pumpkin patch, has swimming, pumpkin decorating, games, and treats. Pre-registration is recommended.
Join us on Halloween night for a spooky fun walk through the City campus to meet City staff and trick or treating! Start at City Hall for this family friendly event. It’s not a haunted house, but feel free to wear your costumes (we will be!). This is collaborative event with multiple City Departments.
