Destination Newport Grant

The Destination Newport Grant supports events and activities that promote Newport as a visitor destination and increases overnight stays in local lodging. For the fiscal year 2025-2026, up to $30,000 is anticipated to be available through this grant program. ELIGIBILITY

  • Nonprofit organization, community group, business, or event organizer capable of executing the proposed project
  • Operate within the City Limits or Urban Growth Boundary of Newport, Oregon
  • Clearly demonstrate that their proposed project creates unique, quality tourism experiences or attractions that can be marketed to entice guests from outside of Lincoln County
  • Be in good standing with the City of Newport and compliant with all local regulations (City codes, permitting requirements, and tourism promotion regulations)
Preference will be given to those who also show that their project will:

  • Create products which contribute to increases in overnight stays from September through May and/or Sunday through Thursday or visitor length of stay
  • Create signature or recurring events that strengthen Newport’s destination identity
  • Leverage partnerships and additional funding sources
  • Support diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and stewardship goals
