City Council Meetings
Newport’s City Council meets regularly on the first and third Mondays of each month—typically with a noon work session and a 6:00 PM regular session. If a scheduled date falls on a holiday, the meeting is typically rescheduled for Tuesday.
All meetings are held at Newport City Hall located at 169 SW Coast Highway unless otherwise noted in the agenda.
Public Committees and Advisory Boards
City advisory committees (such as the Bicycle & Pedestrian, Parks & Recreation, Budget, and Planning Commission) typically meet once or twice a month. These meetings are posted in advance, and archives of agendas, minutes, and recordings are available for public reference.
How to Stay Informed
- View upcoming meetings: Agendas and meeting materials are posted online in advance of each meeting.
- Access archives: Minutes, audio recordings, and other documents from past meetings are available for download.
- Attend or watch remotely: Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall (169 SW Coast Highway). They are also streamed online and archived for later viewing.
