Budget Committee
The Budget Committee is responsible for reviewing the City of Newport’s proposed annual budget before the City Council adopts it. The committee holds public meetings to hear presentations from city departments, ask questions, and receive input from the community.
The committee consists of members of the City Council and an equal number of appointed citizen members. Citizen appointments are made by the City Council and serve staggered three-year terms. The City Manager serves as the Budget Officer and prepares the proposed budget for review by the committee.
Use the Search Archives box to quickly search for agenda items from previous meetings or view meetings, agendas, and packets by year (select the year, then click the plus next to the committee name).
