Planning Commission
The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body that reviews land use applications, zoning changes, and development proposals in accordance with the City of Newport’s comprehensive plan and municipal code. The commission also provides recommendations to the City Council on long-range planning matters.
The City Council appoints commissioners and serves staggered terms. Meetings are open to the public and are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
