Any person living in the City of Newport or within the Lincoln County Library District (LCLD) is eligible for a free library card. The District includes most county residents. We also offer options for long-term and short-term visitors, as well as residents without a fixed address—please speak with staff about available options.

Visit the Newport Public Library to fill out an application in person or download the application HERE and bring it to the library.

Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency in Lincoln County (examples include a driver’s license, utility bill, or piece of official mail).

* A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under the age of 18 *

   A PIN is required to place holds online and access Newport Public Library’s digital resources, including eBooks and research databases. Staff can help create or reset your PIN in person or by phone 541-265-2153. You can also create one when you first log in to your library account.

Library cards are FREE for residents of Newport and the Lincoln County Library District (LCLD).
Are temporary library cards available for visitors?

Temporary visitor cards are available for $5 per month or $49 per year. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under the age of 18.
