Any person living in the City of Newport or within the Lincoln County Library District (LCLD) is eligible for a free library card. The District includes most county residents. We also offer options for long-term and short-term visitors, as well as residents without a fixed address—please speak with staff about available options.

A PIN is required to place holds online and access Newport Public Library’s digital resources, including eBooks and research databases. Staff can help create or reset your PIN in person or by phone 541-265-2153. You can also create one when you first log in to your library account. To sign into your account online:

LIBRARY CARD HOLDER BENEFITS
Your library card gives you access to:
Materials: Books, films, magazines, music, and much more.
Technology: Public computers, printers, scanners, fax machine, and 3D printer.
Unique Lending Items: Fishing poles, Oregon Coast Aquarium passes, internet hotspots, and our Library of Things collection.
Online Resources: The Oregonian, magazines, genealogy and research databases, career support, and test preparation tools.
Programs: Educational and entertaining events for youth, teens, and adults.
Library cards are FREE for residents of Newport and the Lincoln County Library District (LCLD).
Temporary visitor cards are available for $5 per month or $49 per year. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under the age of 18. The Lincoln County Library District (LCLD) provides leadership to ensure equitable library services for all residents. The District includes all unincorporated areas of Lincoln County.
