The Newport 60+ Center Adventure Van is ready to take you on your next journey! Whether it's a hike, a visit to a historical site, or shopping, we schedule trips throughout Oregon year-round to keep your adventurous spirit running strong!


UPCOMING TRIPS

Umpqua Discovery Center (Reedsport, OR)
Join us for a new adventure! We will journey to Reedsport to visit the Umpqua Discovery Center to learn about the natural and human history in the area. After a stop for lunch, we'll head to the Umpqua Lighthouse and Museum. You'll have a chance to ascend the stairs to the top of the lighthouse and view the lens as well as explore the exhibits at the museum. There is also an art gallery, gift shop, and cafe in case you need an after-lunch treat. After we finish our explorations, we'll head back to Newport, arriving between 4:15 and 5 pm, depending on if we want to make any pit stops on the way back.

Yachats Agate Festival (Yachats, OR)
Join us for a trip to the Yachats Agate Festival! This year there will be over 35 vendors showcased, including t-shirt sales, a raffle, and a wire wrapping tutorial where you can make a take your own wire-wrapped stone necklace! There will be plenty of adventure inside both the Commons and Lions Hall. Sponsored by the Oregon Coast Agate Club.

Deepwood Museum and Gardens (Salem, OR)

Join us for a historical journey in Salem!  We'll be visiting Deepwood Museum & Gardens and the Willamette Heritage Center, with a stop at a food truck pod in between for lunch.   Lunch is not included in the price of the trip.  

Deepwood Museum & Gardens: Formerly known as Historic Deepwood Estate, or simply Deepwood, is a historic house in Salem. The home was built by Dr. Luke A. Port, with construction beginning in 1893, and completed in 1894.  Deepwood consists of a 5-acre property with a vast array of outdoor experiences. As a Salem city park, the Deepwood grounds are open free to the public year-round.

Willamette Heritage Center: Admission to the museum gives you access to exhibits in nine historic structures on our five-acre site. A self-guided tour map is available at the front desk to guide your journey through the museum.  Permanent exhibits in the 1840s homes explore the experiences of Native Americans in the Valley and early European settlement of Oregon including Jason Lee and the Methodist Mission to Oregon and the Oregon Trail. The Thomas Kay Woolen Mill buildings provide an in-depth look at industrialization and the woolen industry in Oregon.
