Sister City Committee
The Sister City Committee promotes cultural exchange and friendship between the City of Newport and its sister city, Mombetsu, Japan. The committee helps coordinate exchange programs, student visits, and community events that celebrate the relationship between the two cities.
The City Council appoints members. Meetings are held as needed and are open to the public.
