Get ready for a celebration of 'good vibes' amidst our breathtaking local beauty and floral wonders at the 117th Rhododendron Festival in Florence, Oregon. Prepare for an unforgettable experience brimming with fun and the pageantry that defines our state's second-longest running floral festival.

The theme of this year's festival is “High Tides & Good Vibes.” We will browse through dozens of local vendors selling everything from food to arts and crafts, enjoy the Rhody Classic Car Show 'n' Shine, take in Rhody Run & Walk, and walk through the stunning exhibit of hundreds of rhododendrons inside the Events Center.

The Beaver Creek Trail Loop is the backbone of a system of trails that skirt the fringes of the upland forests and meadows. Hike your way along Snaggy Point Trail to the highest point on the property and take in the epic view of the Pacific Ocean and lower reaches of the marsh. 

Put on your hiking shoes, pack some energy bars, lots of water and join us for another breath-taking hike. Bring hiking sticks, if desired.

This hike is rated as moderate.

The Lebanon Strawberry Festival's Grand Parade is a sight to behold each year, dating back to the festival's beginning in 1909. The Parade has around 130 entries, and from start to finish, spectators can expect around two hours of entertainment with everything from dance groups, bands, floats, motorcycles, "The World's Largest Strawberry Shortcake", and everything in between. At the conclusion of the Grand Parade, the Festival begins! Everyone can enjoy a piece of strawberry shortcake along with a carnival, and food and craft vendors.

This 90-minute round-trip excursion meanders by Tillamook Bay, the Pacific Ocean, Nehalem Bay, and through the Nehalem River Valley, and passes by many lakes and gorgeous panoramic views that can only be seen by rail. The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad is a registered non-profit museum organization. They are an all-volunteer organization that operates over the former Southern Pacific and Port of Tillamook Bay Railroads. They operate regularly scheduled trains between Garibaldi and Rockaway Beach in the summer months.

Visit the many artisan vendor booths selling Lavender plants and products like skin care products, soaps, mists, sachets, Gourmet Lavender Honey, jewelry, arts and crafts and many more booths! Learn about the early machinery that made Oregon work. Hear about innovators and manufacturers of the past. Machines include farm tractors and implements, early engines, crawlers, fire apparatus, vintage trucks and cars, logging gear, an early Oregon Flour Mill, and an authentic Steam Sawmill. Rides include a historic trolley and a miniature railroad. There will be machinery demos, sawmilling, flour milling, traditional tractor pulling and the big Parade! There also will be a lot of other attractions such as blacksmithing, a country store, models, early electricity exhibit, flea market sales, music and of course, great food!

Attention Treasure Hunters! The 60+ Adventure Van will hit the road on Saturday, August 3, 2024, with the Brownsville, Oregon, Antique Faire as our destination. Treasure hunters and antique enthusiasts should not miss this annual event, held in Brownsville’s Pioneer Park. No matter what you're searching for, you're sure to find it. More than seventy vendors come together with their treasures and there's something for everyone.

Lunch will be available (at your cost) and there's plenty of shade and tables to relax for a while. You'll enjoy live music and a beautiful park setting and leave with vintage goodies. Also, be sure not to miss the vintage car show, which brings in vintage cars and admirers from all over the state!

Climb aboard the Newport 60+ Adventure Van as it heads to the Coos Bay area to view the beautiful flower gardens at Shore Acres. 

Shore Acres was once the grand estate of pioneer timber baron and shipbuilder, Louis Simpson. It began as a private estate with luxurious gardens featuring trees, shrubs, and flowering plants brought from around the world aboard Louis’s sailing ships. Visitors will find a Japanese-style garden with a lily pond and two carefully curated rose gardens that include All-American Rose Selections. Something is in bloom almost every day of the year.
