City Administration

The City of Newport operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The City Manager is the administrative head of the city government, and is appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

Jim Voetberg is the City Manager, and he began working for the city on June 1, 2009. The City Manager's staff includes Nicole Clark (Executive Assistant), Richard Dutton (IT Manager), Tad Taylor, (IT Assistant), Jim Salisbury (Safety Coordinator) and Peggy Hawker (City Recorder/Special Projects Director).
