Open House Scheduled for Feb. 18, 4:30 pm at the Library

The City of Newport will host a community open house on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to share preliminary designs and gather public input on the W. Olive Street Improvement Project. The open house will be held at the Newport Public Library from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. No formal presentation is scheduled, allowing attendees to stop by at their convenience.

Improvements as part of this project include the addition of bicycle lanes on both sides of the roadway, curb extensions, and accessible sidewalk ramps along W. Olive St. between NW Nye St. and SW Coast St. Project design is currently approximately 30 percent complete, and a construction timeline has not yet been established.

Project designers and City leadership will be available to discuss the enhancements, answer questions, and receive community feedback. Attendees are encouraged to review the designs and share their input as the project continues to move forward.
