September Facility, Parking, and Road Closures at the Newport Recreation Center

Newport Parks & Recreation will have of several temporary closures at the Newport Recreation & Aquatic Center during September. These closures are necessary to host major community events, including the Newport Pride Festival, the Readiness Fair, and the Newport Harbor Triathlon. We appreciate the community’s patience and invite everyone to enjoy these exciting events.

Newport Pride Fair

• Large Gym: Closes at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19 for event set up and remains closed all day on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21.
• Small Gym: Closes at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 19 for set up and remains closed all day on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21.

Readiness Fair

• Large Gym: Closes at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26 for event set up and remains closed all day on Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28.
• Parking Lot: Closed all day on Saturday, September 27.

Newport Harbor Tri

• Date: Sunday, September 28
• Recreation Center & Angle Street Parking Lots: Closed all day until 3:00 p.m.
• Recreation Center: Open during normal operating hours. Customers should plan ahead since parking will be limited.
• Aquatic Center: Closed all day.
• Angle Street: Closed from Highway 101 to Pine Street from 6 am-3 pm.
